Ingredients:

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas (drained and rinsed)

  • 1/4 cup tahini (sesame paste)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (plus extra for drizzling)

  • 1-2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

  • 1 garlic clove (minced)

  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

  • 1/4 tsp paprika (plus extra for garnish)

  • Salt to taste

  • Water (as needed to adjust consistency)

Instructions:

  1. Blend the ingredients: In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, paprika, and a pinch of salt.

  2. Blend until smooth: Process until the mixture is smooth. If the hummus is too thick, add water a tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.

  3. Taste and adjust: Taste the hummus and add more salt, lemon juice, or cumin to suit your preferences.

  4. Serve: Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. Drizzle with a little olive oil and sprinkle with extra paprika for garnish.

  5. Enjoy: Serve with pita bread, fresh veggies, or crackers for dipping!
