Tequila Onion Steak


Ingredients:




  • 1 medium onion, sliced into rings




  • 1⁄4 cup tequila




  • 1 teaspoon salt




  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro




  • 3 garlic cloves




  • 1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper




  • 2 dried chipotle peppers




  • 1 tomato




  • 2 tablespoons olive oil




  • 2 pounds top sirloin or New York strip steak




  • 1 teaspoon olive oil




  • Salt to taste




Instructions:

  3. Preheat the grill to high. Remove steak from marinade; shake off excess. Lightly coat both sides of each steak with oil. Sprinkle with salt. Sear steaks 4 to 5 minutes on each side or to desired doneness. When done, transfer to a warmed platter and allow to rest 2 to 3 minutes before slicing. Top with marinated tequila onions.
